Heading into the final week of the regular season, the Bulldogs have a chance to spark a run.

Following losses last week to Ronan, Browning and Corvallis, Whitefish will get a crack at rival Columbia Falls before heading to the district tournament Feb. 15.

“We played three good games and one terrible game. We still can’t string together four full quarters,” head coach Sean Duff said of last week.

“Moral victories at this point aren’t getting it done.”

It was a tough going for the Dogs last week, dropping all four of their games in a five-day span.

On Tuesday they put up a strong fight against Ronan, but fell to the Chiefs in a tight 73-65 overtime loss.

After scoring 31 in the final quarter to force the extra period, Whitefish managed only three points to the Chiefs’ 11 in overtime.

Dillon Botner led Whitefish scorers with 19.

On Thursday the Dogs traveled to Browning in a make-up game, but fell 89-73.

Browning exploded for 39 points in the first quarter of that game to put Whitefish down 22 after just eight minutes of play.

Lee Walburn led Whitefish with 26 points and Ryan Kemm added 22.

Finally, on Friday Corvallis took down the Dogs 58-44, despite Whitefish outscoring their opponent in the second half.

Walburn led Bulldog scoring with 16.

Whitefish will host Columbia Falls on Thursday for Senior Night and the final regular season game. That game will start at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s seniors are Noah Fauth, Brendy Peacock and Caleb Meehan.

Last time the two teams played, the Wildcats came out on top 57-37.

“They’ve got some weapons and they’re playing pretty good defense. We know what they do,” Duff said. “It’s senior night too ... we want our seniors to go out with a win. It’s their last game, on their home court, and hopefully we can win that for those kids.”
