Marile May Garrott

Marile May Garrott, 88, died peacefully on Jan. 5, 2018, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was born to Ralph and Loretta (Wolfe) Dyslin on May 24, 1929, in Freeport, Illinois.

Marile graduated from Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois, where she met Jerry Lee Garrott. They married on Sept. 3, 1949, and were blessed with 68 wonderful years of marriage. Marile was the beloved mother of Ann Unruh (Brent) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Elizabeth Kuzzy (James) of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Together Jerry and Marile co-founded Jerry Garrott Jewelers in Peoria, and were life-time business partners. They cherished their 19 years of retirement at Lazy Creek, Whitefish, Montana, where they created lasting memories for their growing grandchildren. Moving to Fernan Village in 2000, Marile and Jerry continued with the good family times of boating, fantastic meals, and travels. Marile is remembered for her love of family, friends and the sharing of her love of nature, books as well as her active involvement in PEO (Chapter DS, Peoria; Chapter D and Charter Member of Chapter BR, Whitefish; and Chapter AG, Coeur d’Alene).

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Karl and J. William Dyslin and is survived by her husband, two daughters (husbands), five grandchildren,

Eva Unruh Gillet (Daniel), Garrott Kuzzy (Catherine Collins), Erica Unruh Sharbono (Kip), Laura Kuzzy (Rody Lageson), Martha Kuzzy and four great-grandchildren, Beckham, Ada, Finn and Lena.

At her request there were no services, but a private family celebration of her life will be held. The family would like to thank the staff at The Bridge of Garden Plaza, Post Falls for their exemplar, caring support of Marile. The family would also like to thank Hospice of North Idaho Schneidmiller House for their exceptional, compassionate care of Marile as well as her family.

Yates Funeral Home was entrusted with her final arrangements.
